All last week I was dreaming about babies. And then, finally, on this fine Sunday afternoon...

There appeared Gimli, the small goatlet who hogs all the food.

And Aragorn. Epic and kingly.

They are so cute and doing so well. :)

Hairs of the Force

I'm not entirely sure what possessed me to take a picture of my hair this morning, but as I was pondering which type of bread to cover with Nutella for breakfast, I decided to take a picture.

So I did.

And, since I am otherwise lame-tacular today, without more ado, here's my hair. :-D

Yeah. That was epic.

And note the very high-tech cell phone holder I'm wearing. Actually, on second thought, ignore everything in this picture except for the lovely curtains my mom made! Very, very pretty. :)

By the way, it really doesn't matter what type of bread you put your Nutella on, because if you put enough on, the bread is really an insignificant flavor.

New Sewing Project!

Wolverine

Here's a look at my little buddy. First he was the Lego Man's little buddy, and then the Lego Man went on to bigger and better activities, and Wolverine became the big sister's project. And a good little project he has been. He now knows the difference between chewtoys and fingers, scratching posts and people, and occasionally uses each for their correct purpose.

Thursday Thirteen: Pictures of (Mostly) Old Fashioned Stuff

Three fabrics I've gotten at thrift stores. Why, however did you guess I love old-fashioned plaid and brown?

A felted cord (which I will make into a belt), which I supposed is old-fashioned because the general population has never seen felt in any form other than those little sheets you buy at craft stores.

Hurricane lamps with *surprise!* plaid bows. :-P I hope the picture comes out for you. My computer screen is wonky anyway, so I don't know if it's bright enough for you.

Quill pen. We cheated and stuck the guts of a ball-point pen in it so that it will actually write. My *real* honest-to-goodness quill pen with interchangeable tips and bottles of ink is put away. Rats and phooey!

My hope chest, which belonged to one of my grandmothers. Isn't it the most beautiful ever? :)

Yesterday, we got a new addition to the family from a neighbor. The Lego Man FINALLY got a pet of his own, poor guy. So he brought the little babe home and pretty much hasn't stopped talking about/looking at/playing with it since.

The frame of this picture is maple wood.

She is sitting at a table in front of a window. You can just make out the Atlantic Ocean beyond her. It is flat and gray, meeting seamlessly with the overcast sky at the horizon. Steam rises from the brown mug cupped in her hands. She holds the rim of the mug so that it almost touches her parted lips. A soft, brown hat on her head is pulled down on her forehead, covering her hair. The sleeves of her brown jacket have fallen away from the worn, wrinkled hands that seem to belie the youthfulness of her pale face. There is peacefulness, a calm serenity, in her eyes.

Cora, Mommy to 4

Just recently, I became mama to 4 little kids. Two sets of twins, in fact! Their names are Jacen and Jaina (someone is a Star Wars geek around here...); and Gareth Joraiem "Super Gary" and Jerusha Rielle. Yes, I name every animal, including the ones that will end up on our plates someday. My animal-naming-style is Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book Character Names With A Flair Of Hebrew Whenever Possible.
